RACHEL BOBBITT’S NEW SONG “FURTHEST LIMB”
Emerging Toronto-based artist Rachel Bobbitt released her remarkable new single, “Furthest Limb” today. In addition to sharing the single, she shares a brand-new video for the track, watch it HERE.
Rachel Bobbitt on “Furthest Limb”:
“It’s a song centered around miscommunications- how when you’re forging a connection with someone it can be easy to assume they view the relationship similarly to how you do, when in reality people can be independently building entire narratives that you aren’t aware of. I wanted the song to feel like the vocal was the steady center in an instrumental that swirls and moves around it; and Chris (Coady, producer) ran with the idea. The opening choral arrangement leads into plucky acoustic guitars which give way to fuzzy synth lines- all the while the main vocal is unwavering in its plea for connection and need for reassurance.”
In February, Rachel Bobbitt shared “Sweetest Heart,” a fan-favorite track which saw wide support, described as “mellow and dreamy, reveling in the comfort of a constant and steady love.”
Her recent two singles follow The Half We Still Have – EP (2023), a series of sharp and incisive character studies, told with unflinching honesty, piercing intuition, and fearless self-reflection. “I wanted these songs to reflect the intense dynamics that take shape in relationships,” Bobbitt explains. “I’ve found in some relationships, you give and give, only to eventually lose yourself in the process. In those moments where we feel abandoned and hollow, a small sliver remains intact, preserved, and personal.”
Produced and mixed by Chris Coady (DIIV, Blondshell, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach House) at his studio in Los Angeles, “Furthest Limb” is a mesmerizing glimpse into Bobbit’s evolution and a sign of what’s to come in 2025.
